Rich dog helps News of the World!!

Posted August 12th, 2009

Gunther, the worlds wealthiest dog has given the News of the World editorial team a record number of puns.  Gunther heads the ‘Bitch List’ with £224 Million although he started with ‘ruffly’ £43M.  A moments paws whilst we consider the ‘paw’ of the world.   Gunther must be wagging all the way to the bank (my pun).

Wagger supports Sandbag

Posted August 7th, 2009

All of us here at Wagger are deeply upset over the fate of Sandbag and his fellow army heroes in Iraq.  We think that the appropriate government department should step in and show respect for heroes like Sandbag and his four-legged comrades-in-arms.

Sandbag’s plight is similar to that of another Iraqi dog who won the heart of an American soldier. Sergeant Gwen Beberg won her bid to bring Ratchett home to the United States following a high-profile media campaign last year.

The Ghurkas had the lovely Ms Lumley to fight their cause we will use this blog to fight for our brave dogs.

Welcome to the Wagger blog

Posted August 3rd, 2009

A big welcome to all those Rovers, Fidos and Spots out there - if they still exist.   According to a recent survey traditional dog names are becoming a thing of the past.  Apparently ‘Molly’ is a favourite name for a bitch and ‘Max’  is the way to go for a modern dog.  Zoe Williams writing in the Guardian has been investigating the subject area.

When Wagger has been running for a while we will track the top ten names from our membership and see if the Guardian has its finger on the pulse of the 21st century dog.  The ‘Wagger dog’ is bang up to the minute and this Autumn I will be blogging on the latest Winter fashions for the well turned out canine about town.  I will also be visiting all the main shows around the UK - especially Scruffts - to report on who’s winning what.  I’ll be chatting to the owners and breeders to get all the doggie gossip other sites ignore.  We will also be looking at what’s happening in Europe,  the U.S.A , Australia and we will even bring you the news from the Beirut Dog show fall festival.

Wagger is all about friendship networks and staying in touch, very often you get your pup from a friendly breeder and promise to report back on how they are doing but then you just lose touch.  With Wagger you can help your dog stay in touch with his litter and you will have every opportunity to gain useful tips from the breeder.

So, enjoy the site, leave your comments and suggestions.

David
