What a busy weekend!

The sun was certainly shining on Saturday in Surrey. I was visiting the Richmond show just outside Guildford. The setting was beautiful in the grounds of Loseley Hall. Everyone was so pleased with the weather, last year was a washout and this year we were in the high 20’s and not a cloud in the sky. This was wagger’s first championship show and we were very well received. A lot of ringside chat concerned itself with docking and breed standards. I think a lot of people at the show found dogs with tails to be quite a novelty. Contrast this with my Sunday at Battersea Reunion in the park where most of the dogs were lucky to have their tails and other parts of them still intact
. I heard terrible tales of dogs rescued from cruelty and I think the last thing on anybodys mind was achieving breed standard! The weather was less clement but the atmosphere was a real carnival. I must say that wagger was very warmly received and my email box is overflowing with warm greetings from people I chatted to. Don’t get me wrong I love championship shows - I used to show Yorkies so I know good ear placement when I see it but I reckon the Battersea dogs had a hell of a lot more fun than the ones I saw at Richmond.
