It is right there with’ Freddie Starr ate my hampster’ as a bonkers story but apparently a restaurant in Adelaide refused entry to a guide dog because the staff thought the owner said ‘gay’ dog ! For this act of canine homophobia the restaurant has had to write an apology to the dog - Jolly - and pay $1200 in com-pen-say-shun. I reread this story twice to make sure it wasn’t a spoof but the Huffington Post is a reliable source of news information.
